Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction on a new 66,000-square-foot wing in Pleasanton, Calif., according to a news release.
The 3-story addition will connect to the east side of the hospital and more than double emergency department (ED) capacity with 24 new treatment bays, three triage rooms, and a larger patient waiting area.
The project will also relocate the hospital’s lab, pharmacy, and sterile processing center to larger spaces.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2029.
