Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center Opens Horizon Patient Tower In Rockville, Maryland

Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, Md., has opened its new, nearly $250 million Horizon Patient Tower, according to wusa9.com.

The 6-story, 150,000-square-foot addition features a redesigned emergency department (ED), advanced intensive care units (ICUs), and updated rooms for stroke patients. The ED includes 38 treatment bays with glass doors. Imaging equipment, including X-ray and CT scanners, is built directly into the unit. Additionally, the tower has a rooftop helipad.

The project replaces 76 older critical care rooms.
