UNC Health Proposes New Hospital In Asheville, North Carolina

The proposal features a 92-bed acute care facility with an ED and ICU.

UNC Health (Chapel Hill, N.C.) is seeking approval to build a hospital in Asheville, N.C., according to a news release.

The not-for-profit academic healthcare system submitted a certificate of need (CON) for UNC Health West, a facility with 92 beds, an emergency department (ED), and intensive care unit (ICU).

Planned services include neonatology, labor and delivery, cardiology, gastroenterology, radiology, psychiatry, speech pathology, and physical and occupational therapy.
