Tulane University Plans Heath And Research Center In New Orleans

The project redevelops the former Charity Hospital building to house classrooms, community spaces, and interdisciplinary labs.

Tulane University (New Orleans) has announced plans to redevelop the former Charity Hospital building in downtown New Orleans as a center for education, healthcare, research, and innovation, according to a news release.

The university plans to occupy 650,000 square feet of the 1 million-square-foot structure, adding classrooms, community spaces, and interdisciplinary laboratories.

Once complete, the center will house the Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, the Tulane University Innovation Institute, and portions of the Tulane School of Medicine.
