Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) St. Elizabeth’s Hospital has opened a new outpatient registration area as part of its ongoing $116 million renovation and redevelopment project in O’Fallon, Ill., according to Illinois Business Journal.

Located inside the hospital’s first-floor outpatient entrance, the newly constructed space features two self-check-in kiosks and a registration desk.

Construction is expected to begin within weeks on the former registration area, which will be converted into an entrance for the hospital’s new first-floor cafeteria.

Meanwhile, on the hospital’s fifth floor, which formerly housed the kitchen and cafeteria, work continues to add 32 inpatient rooms. Additionally, the hospital is expanding its emergency department, adding eight new treatment rooms and an expanded waiting area.
