Ernest Health (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) is partnering with Summit Healthcare Group (Winston-Salem, N.C.) to develop rehabilitation hospitals in six North Carolina markets, according to a news release.
Phase one of a plan to expand coverage across the state will include freestanding facilities in Winston-Salem, Mooresville, Gastonia, Hickory, South Asheville, and Goldsboro. Sites have been secured in each market.
The facilities will provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy services for patients recovering from strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and other debilitating illnesses.
Additionally, each facility will feature a therapy gym, activities of daily living suite, in-house dialysis suite, restaurant-style dining room, pharmacy, and landscaped therapy courtyard.
