WVU Medicine celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new 150-bed WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital on the campus of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W. Va., according to the website wvumedicine.org.

The $215 million project includes a pediatric emergency department, 17-bed pediatric intensive care unit (ICU) with four beds for epilepsy monitoring, six-bed cardiac ICU, 50-bed neonatal intensive care unit with four rooms for twins, operating rooms, pediatric imaging, cardiac catheterization labs, cafeteria, gift shop, medical office building, and pharmacy.

The facility has five Centers of Excellence, including a birthing center, blood disorders and cancer center, critical care and trauma center, heart center, and neuroscience center.
