Atrium Health Plans North Carolina Project

Atrium Health Union West will house 40 beds, three ORs, and a 10-bay emergency department.

Nonprofit hospital network Atrium Health (Charlotte, N.C.) is planning to open a new 150,000-square-foot hospital in Charlotte, N.C., according to an article in Charlotte Business Journal.

The project, Atrium Health Union West, will house 40 beds, three operating rooms, a 10-bay emergency department, and an endoscopy suite. Imaging, lab, and pharmacy services also will be offered.

Atrium Health also plans to build a medical office building on the 47-acre site. A cancer institute project in the medical office building is being proposed, as well.

Construction is expected to end in the fourth quarter of 2021, and the project is slated to open in early 2022.
