Attracting and retaining new talent is vital to continue to drive innovation in this field. So Healthcare Design set out to find—and celebrate—newcomers who are inspiring a fresh take on healthcare design. We opened the nomination process in spring, asking our readers to introduce us to colleagues who have been focused on healthcare for fewer than 10 years. Age didn’t matter—only time in the industry and the difference made during those years.

Nominations included researchers, architects, interior designers, and patient experience designers, all at various stages of their careers. We identified six individuals who stood out due to their exceptional work within the past few years. Their passion is inspiring, their ideas for the future exciting, and their outlook game-changing.

We’re thrilled to share our 2018 Rising Stars with you on the following pages. We’ll also celebrate this inaugural class during Healthcare Design’s awards luncheon at the 2018 HCD Expo & Conference, Nov. 10-13, in Phoenix. Join us in congratulating the winners!
