The 55,000-square-foot Center for Behavioral Medicine is preparing to open its doors in Knoxville, Tenn.

Situated on 9 acres, the 64-bed adult and geriatric behavioral health center will provide inpatient care and outpatient treatment for alcohol and substance use disorder, acute depression, Alzheimer’s, suicidal ideation, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety, dissociative disorders, memory loss, and dementia.

The project is a partnership of National Healthcare Corporation (Murfreesboro, Tenn.), which operates skilled nursing centers, 24 assisted living communities, a behavioral health hospital, five retirement communities, and homecare and hospice agencies; Tennova Healthcare (Jefferson City, Tenn.), one of Tennessee’s largest health networks; and The University of Tennessee Medical Center, an academic medical center in Knoxville.

The project team comprises TMPartners (architect; Brentwood, Tenn.) and Robins & Morton (general contractor; Birmingham, Ala.).
