CHOP Plans New Hospital in Pennsylvania

The 272,000-square-foot project will include 52 inpatient beds, a 20-bay ED, operating room suite, radiology services, and specialty operations.

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (Philadelphia) is planning a new inpatient hospital in King of Prussia, Pa., according to an article in Patch.

The 272,000-square-foot project will be adjacent to the King of Prussia Specialty Care and Urgent Care Center, which is already operational. The hospital will include 52 inpatient beds, including 16 pediatric intensive care unit beds and 36 medical/surgical beds; a 24/7, 20-bay emergency department; operating room suite; radiology services; and specialty operations for orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, and ear, nose, and throat.

The hospital is expected to be operational by October 2021.
