Hasbro Children’s Hospital Adds New Healing Garden And Playground

The 29,000-square-foot Balise Healing Garden and conjoined playground feature a teaching garden, interactive theater space, and accessible play structures.

Hasbro Children’s Hospital (Providence, R.I.), part of the Lifespan (Providence) healthcare system, has completed a new healing garden and playground.

Located outside the hospital’s lower level, the 29,000-square-foot Balise Healing Garden features a raised-bed teaching garden and theater space with stadium-style benches and chimes and drums for patients to interact with. The conjoined playground is built on a cushioned base and includes swings and a climb-on structure with a wheelchair-accessible slide.
