Highpoint Health – Sumner Station with Ascension Saint Thomas in Gallatin, Tenn., is moving forward with expansion plans, according to a news release.
Highpoint Health (Gallatin) received approval of a certificate of need (CON) application from the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission (Nashville, Tenn.) for a $59.3 million expansion of the hospital campus.
Currently a freestanding emergency department (ED) operated in partnership with Ascension Saint Thomas (Franklin, Tenn.), the campus will become a 28-bed satellite acute care hospital.
The project adds an eight-bed inpatient pediatric unit, 16 inpatient medical and telemetry beds, and a four-bed intensive care unit (ICU). Additionally, a cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology lab, two operating rooms, an endoscopy suite, and expanded pharmacy are part of the project.
In total, the project comprises 2,705 square feet of new construction and 41,845 square feet of renovations.
