Healthcare organizations Northeast Georgia Health System (Gainesville, Ga.) and Lifepoint Health (Nashville, Tenn.) broke ground on the 62,000-square-foot Northeast Georgia Rehabilitation facility in Gainesville.

The two-story rehabilitation hospital will include 40 beds with shell space for 10 additional beds.

Expected to be completed by April 2025, the project will house a therapy gym, day rooms for patients, and a life skills training area with a mock bedroom and kitchen area on the first floor.

The second floor will provide therapy rooms and 12 patient beds for patients with brain injuries. An courtyard space with outdoor therapeutic resources is also planned.

Earl Swensson Associates Inc. (ESa; Nashville) is the architect on the project and Hoar Construction (Atlanta) is the general contractor.
