NYC Health + Hospitals Adds Nature-inspired Mural At Bellevue Hospital In New York

Titled "Before There was Asphalt / Gardens are Cities," the piece is one of more than 50 murals at NYC Health + Hospitals facilities.

NYC Health + Hospitals (New York) has unveiled the latest addition to its Community Mural Project at Bellevue Hospital in New York’s Kips Bay neighborhood, according to a news release.

Located in the south lobby, the nature-inspired mural, titled “Before There was Asphalt / Gardens are Cities,” is created by Bronx artist Emma Kohlmann in collaboration with hospital staff and community members.

The piece is one of more than 50 murals developed across NYC Health + Hospitals facilities since 2019.
