St. Luke’s University Health Network (Bethlehem, Pa.) is planning to open St. Luke’s Orthopedic Hospital at the St. Luke’s West End Medical Center in Allentown, Pa., this winter.

The $44 million hospital will offer same-day surgeries of the knee, hip, spine, hand, and shoulder and treatment for sports-related fractures and other injuries.

The 52,000-square-foot, two-story facility will house eight operating rooms (ORs) and 24 rooms for pre- and post-surgical patient care on the first floor, as well as family waiting rooms and support and auxiliary space.

The second floor will include patient overnight rooms, staff and supply areas, and shelled space.
