Wellstar Health System (Marietta, Ga.) and the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University (Augusta, Ga.) are preparing to open Wellstar Columbia County Medical Center in Grovetown, Ga., according to The Augusta Chronicle.
The 6-story, 254,000-square-foot facility is expected to open this summer with 100 inpatient beds and a 17-bay emergency department (ED).
Each patient room will be equipped with telehealth technology, including cameras and touchscreen monitors in place of whiteboards. The hospital is also targeting certification as a Level 2 trauma center.
