Durham Spine & Pain Institute: Imaging rooms were carefully laid out to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding environment. To meet out-of-hospital treatment facility standards, the existing concrete slab was refinished with a non-porous epoxy coating—for a cohesive, warm-toned surface throughout—and existing heat pumps were upgraded and relocated, with additional units added and connected to a building automation system designed to prevent cross-contamination between clinical zones.
