Children’s Hospital Kennedy Outpatient Center (CHOC), located within Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, Tenn., has opened. The new three-story, 90,000 square-foot center serves as the hospital’s new entrance and consists of 72 rooms for services including pediatric imaging, lab services, pharmacy, and pediatric specialty clinics such as cardiology, neurology, genetics, gastroenterology, and orthopedics.
The outpatient center, designed by HKS Architects, Inc. and constructed by
McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., incorporates family-friendly features to engage and distract children during their visits, including playful nooks, a model steam train, and secret garden. The center’s interior and exterior designers were inspired from Chattanooga’s landscape.
The project broke ground in June 2017 and was completed in November 2018.
