Modern Age is an aging wellness studio in New York that offers both virtual and in-person care for skin, hair, bone, and hormone health. It was inspired by research that shows people who feel younger live longer, healthier lives.

Situated at the corner of 5th Avenue and West 15th Street, the 4,400-square-foot project includes large storefront windows to provide an abundance of natural light in the welcome lounge. From there, clients can navigate through a custom-built photo booth, a wellness reading library, a refresh room, and a retail display.

The design infuses painterly textures, soft gradients of light, and a complex material palette that come together to create a joyful and calming atmosphere. Inspired by the human form, the design uses elements such as irregular shapes and asymmetrical geometries to symbolize and honor our unique imperfections.

Curated music, fresh flowers, and a custom scent have each been considered as part of a holistic and sensorial customer experience.

A dramatic hallway leads customers to a courtyard of six treatment suites sculpted by curved walls and historic 17-foot-tall Corinthian columns. The columns are glazed in a creamy white tile to bounce diffused light across the architectural details.

Above each treatment suite, a color-changing light well provides a relaxing focal point for procedures and meditations.
