Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Boston) has received approval from the Boston Planning and Development Agency Board (BPDA, Boston) on its design for a new cancer hospital in Boston, according to a news release.
The 10-story, 450,000-square-foot inpatient cancer hospital will house 300 beds and is expected to welcome patients in 2031.
The project is a collaboration between Dana-Farber, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC, Boston) and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC (Boston).
The new cancer hospital will be located on the current site of Joslin Diabetes Center (Boston) and physically connect to BIDMC. Joslin Diabetes Center will be relocated to BIDMC’s East Campus and the Center for Life Sciences (Boston).
