The Kansas City Convention Center is the site of the 2025 Healthcare Design Conference + Expo, Oct. 25-28, in Kansas City, Mo. Officially known as the Kansas City Convention & Entertainment Facilities, the center is a hub for culture, commerce, and community events spanning eight city blocks in downtown Kansas City, Mo.
The 800,000-square-foot center offers a rich architectural and historical story, making it a key part of the city’s identity.
Among its most notable areas is the 46,484-square-foot Grand Ballroom. Certified LEED Silver, the “green” ballroom includes waterless plumbing and energy-efficient heating, cooling, and lighting systems, according to Visit KC.
Another architectural structure within the complex is the Municipal Auditorium, an Art Deco-style space showcasing 1930s-era design. This part of the center includes several key performance and gathering venues: the KC Music Hall, Little Theatre, The Lex (a lower-level exhibition hall), and the Municipal Arena.
Connected to the Convention Center via skywalk, the Bartle Exhibit Hall is distinguished by four towering pylons that are an engineering necessity, allowing for 388,800 square feet of column-free exhibit space to exist. The pylons are topped with art installations known as the “Sky Stations,” designed by artist R.M. Fisher.
