Atrium Health (Charlotte, N.C.) opened Atrium Health Lake Norman in Cornelius, N.C., earlier this summer, and now has completed construction on an adjacent medical office building (MOB), according to a news release from JE Dunn Construction (Atlanta), the builder on both projects along with contractor McFarland Construction (Charlotte, N.C.) in a joint venture.
The hospital houses a 24/7 ED, 36 inpatient beds, operating and procedure rooms, imaging, lab, pharmacy, and a labor and delivery floor. The MOB includes 61 exam rooms and two X-ray rooms, offering specialty care such as obstetrics-gynecology, heart and vascular, general surgery, and pulmonary care.
The MOB also houses the Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute, providing orthopedic services, and Atrium Health Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute for cardiology services.
