Sanford Black Hills Medical Center Planned In Rapid City, South Dakota

Sanford Health’s 480,000-square-foot facility is expected to begin construction in 2027.

Sanford Health (Sioux Falls, S.D.) announced plans to build Sanford Black Hills Medical Center in Rapid City, S.D., according to southdakotasearchlight.com.

Adjacent to the Black Hills Orthopedic and Spine Center, the 480,000-square-foot facility will house 168 inpatient beds. Additional features will include an emergency department (ED), intensive care unit (ICU), oncology center, women’s health services with a labor and delivery unit, and children’s services.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027 with completion anticipated by 2030.
