Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Va., opened a new neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in its Children’s Tower, according to a news release from VCU Health (Richmond, Va.).
The $28 million project adds 20 beds, expanding the total number of NICU beds to 60, including the existing NICU at the adjacent VCU Medical Center.
The new Level IV NICU at Children’s Hospital of Richmond spans 28,000 square feet with 16 private and two double-occupancy rooms. The unit also houses a lounge and quiet room.
