Corewell Health (Southfield, Mich.) announced conceptual plans to expand its Butterworth Hospital campus in Grand Rapids, Mich., according to a news release.

The project comprises a 621,000-square-foot facility to house a new emergency department (ED), 180 private beds, and 12 to 16 operating rooms.

The health system is considering two locations for the project, which would include demolishing existing, aging facilities and relocating the services that are currently housed there.
