LRS Architects (Portland, Ore.) has appointed Janice Sanada as president, based in the firm’s Portland office, according to a news release.
Sanada succeeds Trish Nixon, who served as president of LRS since 2019 and will remain with the firm, transitioning her focus to talent development. Nixon will also continue to lead the multifamily housing studio at LRS, which marks its 50th year in 2026.
Sanada brings more than 30 years of experience to her new role, having led complex projects with a focus on senior living, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and nursing environments. A University of Oregon graduate, she is a LEED Accredited Professional and licensed architect in Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Maryland, Arizona, and Texas. She is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Society for the Advancement of Gerontological Environments (SAGE), and the International Code Council Committee on Healthcare.
