Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, N.J., opened an expanded emergency department (ED) on its main campus, according to roi-nj.com.
The project adds 28 treatment beds, more than doubling the hospital’s capacity of 19 existing beds.
The expansion also introduces an EmPATH (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, and Healing) model for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
The new ED also features designated pediatric and geriatric areas, as well as sensory-sensitive spaces for neurodivergent patients.
