Spooner Health To Break Ground On Clinic Addition In Wisconsin

The project will deliver a new primary care clinic, as well as space for visiting specialists and general surgery and wound care departments.

Spooner Health, a 25-bed critical access hospital in Spooner, Wis., is set to begin construction this spring on a new addition, according to a news release.

The expansion will comprise a new primary care clinic, jointly owned by Spooner Health and Tamarack Health (Hayward, Wis.), as well as space for a visiting specialist clinic and general surgery and wound care departments. In addition, a new permanent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) space will replace a mobile MRI unit.

The clinic addition is expected to be completed by summer 2027.

Future phases of the project will include:

  • The addition of three emergency department treatment rooms, as well as a dedicated triage room, and new imaging room, expected to be completed by fall 2027.
  • A second rehabilitation gym and new outpatient laboratory, expected to be completed by early 2028.
