Healthcare Design Showcase 2026
The annual Healthcare Design Showcase continues its legacy of recognizing the projects, teams, and ideas shaping the future of healthcare environments. Now in its 26th year, the awards program celebrates excellence in planning, architecture, and interior design while highlighting innovative solutions that elevate patient care, improve operational performance, and enhance the human experience.
Each year, architectural firms, designers, and healthcare organizations submit projects that reflect the evolving needs of healthcare delivery. From cutting-edge hospitals and ambulatory facilities to behavioral health, pediatrics, and specialty care environments, the entries demonstrate how thoughtful design can solve complex challenges while creating spaces that are resilient, sustainable, and inspiring.
HCD Design Showcase judging process
This year’s submissions were evaluated by a jury of industry professionals, including architects, interior designers, owners, and industry consultants. Projects were judged on achievements in Innovation, Aesthetics, Experience, and Operational Performance.
The highest-scoring entries from the initial review advanced to a live, in-person session, where our jury selected the projects receiving Honorable Mention recognition and the program’s highest distinction, the Award of Merit.
We’ll also celebrate our Design Showcase winners during a Magazine Awards Luncheon to be held at the 2026 HCD Conference + Expo (Oct. 17-20 in New Orleans). For more details and to register for the conference, visit hcdexpo.com.
