Contractors at Airedale Hospital, located in West Yorkshire, England, recently broke ground on a new £6 million acute assessment unit. The 48-bed unit will have eight bays and eight single room suites with facilities. It will also have a new ambulatory lounge, for patients who need urgent assessment and treatment but don’t need to be admitted to the hospital.

The unit will be around 1,400 square meters in size and will link to the hospital’s new Emergency Department, which opened in December 2014. The unit is scheduled to open in Spring 2018.

The building work is being done by Integrated Health Projects.
