Unity Health Toronto in Toronto has accelerated the opening of select floors of the Peter Gilgan patient care tower at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto to be dedicated to COVID-19 critical care patients.

The intensive care units on the hospital’s fourth and seventh floors will open first and house 33 new beds. The patient tower is part of a larger redevelopment project at the hospital.

The architecture firm on the project is NORR (Toronto).
