Dartmouth Health (Lebanon, N.H.) has started construction on a new surgical care center at New London Hospital in New London, N.H., according to a news release.

The 40,000-square-foot addition will deliver four operating rooms (ORs), a 22-bed post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), and expanded central sterile processing. Two existing ORs will be converted to surgical procedure rooms.

The project will also add a dedicated entrance to the surgical care center, with improved patient and family waiting areas.

The hospital will continue to operate during construction, which is expected to be completed in fall 2028.
