North Knoxville Medical Center in Powell, Tenn., part of Tennova Healthcare (Knoxville, Tenn.), opened a four-story patient tower, according to the website

The $67.5 million, 98,000-square-foot tower houses a first-floor emergency department (ED). The second and third floors feature an expanded 28-bed intensive care unit (ICU), 28 adult acute care beds, education rooms, and meeting space, while the fourth floor has shell space for future use.

As part of the project, the existing hospital’s laboratory, pharmacy, and facility and material support areas were renovated.
