Tampa General Hospital (Tampa, Fla.) received approval from the Citrus County Board of Commissioners to build a new 400-bed hospital in Lecanto, Fla., according to the Citrus County Chronicle.
The project will be completed in two phases and include two 120,000-square-foot medical office buildings (MOBs) and a 120-bed hospital tower, as well as a central energy plant and helipad. The campus will also include an existing freestanding emergency department (ED).
The new hospital will be situated on 53 acres.
