UPMC Presbyterian Hospital Unveils Plans For New Tower
The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC; Pittsburgh) is adding a new patient tower to its UPMC Presbyterian Hospital – Oakland campus in Pittsburgh, according to an article in wpxi.com.
The 17-story, 900,000-square-foot project will include 636 private patient rooms organized in disease-specific units as well as intensive care, stepdown, and discharge. The tower will also include retail, a pharmacy, guest fitness area, family respite area, 450-car garage, and an entry garden.
Construction is slated to begin in summer 2022 and the project is expected to open in fall 2026.
