Jackson West Medical Center Doral Campus: The project is located at the transition zone between the urban fabric of Miami Dade County to the east and the Natural wilderness of the Everglades to the west. As a result, the form and function of the complex negotiates the more rational grid of the urban fabric and the organic and fluid shapes that respond to the natural environment.

Jackson West Medical Center Doral Campus: With the perspective of the facility as a community space, the main lobby was designed in collaboration with a public art program. The third floor includes a retail center, business meeting rooms, and multiuse spaces that are open and available to the community.

Jackson West Medical Center Doral Campus: For the exterior experience, the grounds were designed as an open public space, not just for hospital patients and visitors. The park includes a public soccer field for the community, walking paths, and a pond for quiet reflection. Working with resilience in mind, the exterior grounds and landscaping create a restorative process, cleansing water runoff from nearby roadways.

Jackson West Medical Center Doral Campus: The buildings are designed to promote collaboration between primary care physicians and specialists and are planned for flexibility and future expansion to respond to changing technologies, staffing, and patient needs. It will serve as a model of care delivery for the Jackson Healthcare System in the future.

Jackson West Medical Center Doral Campus: The main entry plaza internally connects the common levels of these buildings at both the ground level atrium space of the hospital and the collaborative Sky Bridge. This architecture wraps the existing geometry of the lake, uses precast wall elements and glazed curtain walls to deflect airport and highway noise, and employs a vertical pattern that maximizes sweeping views while providing necessary shading for the intense solar environment.
