Christus Good Shepherd (Longview, Texas), the Roy H. Laird Memorial Hospital Foundation (Kilgore, Texas), the City of Kilgore, and Kilgore College are planning a new $23 million medical center in Kilgore, according to an article in CBS19. The new Roy H. Laird Medical Center will replace the 1950s-era Laird Memorial Hospital.

The project will involve demolishing outdated buildings beginning in early 2022 and constructing and expanding facilities used by Kilgore College and Christus Good Shepherd, including a 75,000-square-foot addition near the existing emergency center, which will remain intact, and new teaching and lab space for the college.
